Phosphating Barrels

Phosphating barrels need to be manufactured out of high strength temperature resistant materials to withstand the heavy loading and high temperature environment of a high volume phosphating operation.  Typically this involves heavy gauge 304 or 316 stainless steel, sometimes in combination with thick polypropylene gears. When requesting a quote for new or replacement phosphating barrels, please include the following information:

  • For new barrels – size of the largest part and processing volume requirements (how many parts per year)
  • Type of phosphate chemistry – zinc, manganese, iron, zirconium
  • Current tank dimensions
  • Barrel dimension – length and diameter
  • Would you be willing to send an existing superstructure to the manufacturer?

Typically when replacing an existing phosphate barrel, the existing superstructure and sometimes and existing barrel will be sent to the manufacturer to ensure everything is fits properly.
